Paul, thanks for your thoughts on this. I think I should follow up on this post with a little research into driver feedback systems. I have always guessed that the bumper stickers generate far less compliments or constructive feedback than outright criticism. Anyone watching my incident Sunday would have guessed that I must be a very poor driver, and in that moment I was. But I am mostly a cautious and attentive driver.
Driving is an example of where we need to learn to step back once in a while and challenge our attentiveness.

Tim,

Glad your near miss was nothing more eventful. It's interesting you titled your post "How's My Driving?" which is at some levels a "near miss" reporting system -- many of the calls logged report egregious behavior that if left unchecked would likely lead to a collision eventually. The point of the program is to intervene, compassionately, with the affected driver to provide tailored training on the issues mentioned within the report - not to punitively hurt the driver because of the report.

Folks should be encouraged to take the time to place calls to How's My Driving hotlines - not to retailiate against another driver, but to simply report near misses so that training can flow to those drivers.
